CARDET (CYPRUS) – INJAWARA BOARD GAME TOURNAMENT

CARDET has successfully implemented the Board Game Tournament in two special occasions and 4 proud winners will travel to beautiful Spain on the 27th of November to attend the Spanish INJAWARA festival organized by JARIT.

The 8 teams concurred that the game had a steep learning curve but when everything was set and done the teams really enjoyed the shared difficulty and understood the theoretical underpinnings of the game. The collaborative spirit prevailed and our participants did not have any problems adjusting “to the alternative way of winning”. While skill of balancing acts did prove which team was more masterful there was a real discussion and sense of enlightenment about the information provided by the questions and we feel it sparked some livid interest in the areas of Development and the framework of Millennium Development Goals.

Four people were rewarded with a chance to visit Valencia and JARIT, our national partners in Spain, two from the first event and two from the second. The first team ended with 325 points and the second with 285 points. In less than 10 days they will be flying to represent Cyprus at the final INJAWARA event in Spain.

The skillful winners are Daghan Ozbinler, Sofia Marmara, Maria Economidou and Margarita Malia.
