TAMAT - Second Newsletter on the Educational Workshop
The Educational Workshops have started in Italy in October 2013. The first one to be acquainted with the Injawara aims are the youngsters gathered in the Youth Centers of Spoleto and Campello sul Clitunno.
The youngsters have been first made aware on the Millennium Development goals and its objectives, then thanks to Tamat experience in Development Cooperation projects in Mali, Burkina Faso and Bosnia, they had the chance to see with their eyes the results of the projects and the faces of the people Tamat ngo cooperates with, which every day fight to eradicate the poverty, to reduce the gender gap, and to guarantee the primary Education.
Tamat NGO is already receiving great feedbacks from the first youngsters made previously aware thanks to the Educational Workshops. The Injawara teenagers in Campello sul Clitunno had the fantastic idea of collecting books, toys, board games, clothes they don't use anymore, in order to organise a flea market in the local community. From selling those products the youngsters will aim to support Tamat NGO partner in Burkina Faso - Iccv Nazemce- in building a library in Ouagadougou (some photos). This could be considered the first Service Learning made by the youngsters for the youngsters and all community, which is able to spread, more than millions of words, the concepts of Cooperation to Development, Global Citizenship and the importance of the Millennium Development Goals.
Moreover Tamat ngo, on 15th November 2013 co-organised with the University Students Association in Perugia-UDU, the "Day of the Education Right", which included educational workshops on the Global Citizenship, Cooperation to Development, Immigration and right to Education, video projections, readings, to nearly 50 youngsters.
....The Educational Workshops continue in the province of Perugia, with so many more enthusiastic and interested youngsters. We keep you posted.
